Overcome Drug Addiction
No matter how hopeless it may seem to overcome drug addiction it is not an impossible goal. If you have a good support system in your life that is great. You need to decide what changes in your life do you need to make to overcome drug addiction. Are the people around you using drugs? If so you need to change the people you hang around with. That can sometimes be difficult if it is family, but you need to help yourself and overcome your drug addiction and then you may be able to help them.
Drug addiction is not usually just about the drugs. It is about your whole life. It affects you home, work, family and finances. Think about how much money you use for drugs and how much you would save if you were to overcome drug addiction. Think about other things that you could use that money for. Also think about if you are stealing for your drug habits. Not only is it possibly putting a financial strain on your household, if you are stealing from other places you are probably putting a financial strain on them.
Think about if you get caught and go to jail. Then the people that care about and probably are your support system are not around. Not only is it hard for you but it is hard for them also. When you come off your high, how do you feel about yourself. You are probably down in the dumps and have a low self esteem and the only way you think you can make yourself feel better is getting high again. But all that does is make things worse. Drugs are not a positive way to deal with stress. In the end it usually makes things worse for you and everyone around you.

If you have a lot of free time on your hands you may want to go and do drugs to get rid of the boredom, but think of all the things you could be doing if you put effort towards that. If you have kids, you could be spending more time with them, you could be doing that home project that you have been putting off because you have not had the time or the money, you could be out learning new things. To overcome drug addiction it is a long process. It requires time, motivation, commitment,and support. But it can happen, and in the end you will feel better about yourself and your life.
