Joe Biden’s Son Tested Positive for Cocaine and the Navy Discharges Him
Let the shock and awe pour out. Another story of politicians using drugs emerges. Hunter Biden, the youngest son of Vice President Joe Biden, tested positive for cocaine during a drug test, preformed by the Navy. Under the Privacy Act, no other details are being released. They only information given out was that Hunter Biden tested positive for cocaine in 2013 and was discharged from the Navy this year. The Vice President has not released a statement on this issue. Hunter released a statement claiming that it was an honor to serve in the Navy and is deeply embarrassed by his actions. Some believe his statement to be insincere and that of a spoiled child.
Hunter Biden did not join the Navy like most do. He was one of seven that was selected to join by direct commission. This allows professionals to join the Navy by applying and attending a training course. They are sent to complete a 12 day training program to prepare them for their positions. From there, they are placed in leadership positions. Many people believe that this is not the proper way to join the Navy. They believe that you should rightfully work your way from the bottom to the top, which is the American way after all.
Another red flag that was raised was the fact that Hunter had to receive 2 waivers to join the Navy. The first waiver was for his age. Hunter was 42 years old when he applied, which is considerably old to join the Navy. His second waiver was for an earlier drug charge Hunter had. The question is, are we really shocked Joe Biden’s son tested positive for cocaine?
If you look at this situation from an outsider’s perspective, it is a pure case of enabling mixed with self entitlement linked to his last name. Do you really believe a person of normal standing would be accepted for such an elite 12 day training program and receive 2 waivers to join the Navy? I seriously doubt that. On top of that, Hunter received an administrative discharge for his actions. How does testing positive for cocaine equal an administrative discharge? Shouldn’t this be a dishonorable discharge? Hopefully the Biden family will use this embarrassment as a wakeup call, to stop enabling their 44 year old son.
