Many Nigerian drug group members were arrested because of this seizure.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office records state that in the past few years, the number of people abusing heroin has not increased or decreased. Heroin abuse occurs most often in Milwaukee and Racine. Heroin as high as 95 percent pure is becoming more common in Wisconsin. Since high-purity level heroin can be snorted instead of injected, the drug is becoming more appealing to teens. The number of young people experimenting with the drug is going up.
The DEA also states the levels of methamphetamine abuse in Wisconsin has remained stable. There is a limited amount of the drug throughout the state, and is almost completely unavailable in Green Bay. The majority of methamphetamine available in Wisconsin is produced in local labs. Some of the meth is imported from Minneapolis in ounce quantities. Although, recently there was 37 pounds of methamphetamine seized in Green Bay. The drugs were owned by people who lived out of state and were trying to create a methamphetamine market in the area.
