Jared & Jensen’s “ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING” Campaign Completed a Strong Run
In the society we will in today, we are always looking to celebrities for the latest fashions and trends. Well lately there have been some amazing celebrities using their “power†for good causes. Jared Padalecki from the hit show, “Supernaturalâ€, started the “ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING†campaign to raise awareness for mental health issues and addiction. With the amazing success that campaign had, not a month later Jared is at it again, but this time he brought in his buddy and co-star, Jensen Ackles for the second round of “ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTINGâ€. This campaign will go towards mental health and addiction awareness, as well as other causes.
The second round of the “ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING†campaign started about two weeks ago and end this week. The results were amazing. In just two weeks Jared and Jensen were able to not only raise an extreme amount of money, but also an extreme amount of awareness. The campaign sold 59,440 various types of shirts, at an average price of $22.99, totaling $1,366,525.60. 2,512 cell phone cases were sold at an average price of $28.99, totaling $72,822.88. 526 kids’ shirts sold at an average price of $21.99 totaling $11,566.74. That’s right, in a total of two weeks the “ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING†campaign reached a grand total of $1,450,915.22.
The merchandise they sold had a slogan that read “Moose and Squirrel Say Always Keep Fightingâ€.
The Moose and Squirrel reference is one that fans of their show, “Supernaturalâ€, will quickly pick up on. These nicknames were given to them by Crowley, a character in the show.
Jared and Jensen released a statement saying, “we’ve seen FIRST-HAND the kinds of amazing things that can be accomplished when we all work together to support causes that are important and meaningful to us all.â€
The statement continues, “With y’all’s help, we’ve been able to raise (literally!) hundreds of thousands of dollars to support great organizations.” Some of these organizations include, To Write Love On Her Arms, Wounded Warriors, St. Jude’s, Attitudes In Reverse, and The Down Syndrome Connection.
Jared and Jensen continue explaining the importance of this campaign, “Beyond the financial benefits to these charities (and, in our opinions, even MORE IMPORTANTLY), we’ve also been able to start conversations about issues that have, up to now, been so heavily stigmatized by those who don’t understand, that they were often just avoided outright or hidden.†They continue on, “We, as a group, have been able to offer support and love to people who we have never had the pleasure of meeting face-to-face.â€
They explain their mission, “We have the “bug”. We want to seek out and find MORE worthy causes (while still supporting the aforementioned charities, of course) so that there can be an overwhelming abundance of places people can go to seek help.†They continue, “Whether it’s for mental illness, depression, addiction, or for causes that we are not even aware of yet!â€
Jared and Jensen explain, “In addition to the fund that we have started, we are ALSO going to work with that guy named Misha Collins,”. They joke around, knowing that everyone knows who he is, if they watch the show, “(maybe you’ve heard of him) and his wonderful charity “Random Acts” to increase our reach and accomplish things that we simply could not accomplish alone.†They concluded with a great message, “We’ve learned, after all these years, that things are better when we’re all working together.â€
